I got started in FM in January 2008 and went 3% in that month, 6% in February and 9% in March then continued at 9% in the following months.
As one team's volume grew another's dwindled ... And yet, the numbers in the team tripled and the numbers attending at Birmingham doubled.
To be frank I was frustrated ... but instead of blaming everyone and everything (as some people would) I took a long hard look at me, my business and FM as a whole.
The questions I asked were:
Do the products sell? The answer was YES ... so the problem was not there.
Do people join FM? Again, the answer was YES (at the time of writing this I'd personally signed up over 20-people!)
Do people duplicate? The answer was NO
So the next question was WHY NOT?
The problem was that there was no definite track to run on and no absolute duplicable pattern - people didn't know if they should party plan, kit drop, present or share the idea.
There were too many choices so, in the main, apart from the initial order, we didn't get the repeat sales or duplication of sponsoring. This meant that we had lots of people in the team who were confused and doing nothing.
I talked to cross-line and upline and discovered that there were people who had sponsored 20, 30, 40 and even 50 people personally only to find they only had one or two good legs - what a waste! I even found one person with over 5000 people in her team - worldwide - who only had 2-leaders!
FM had an identity crisis - was it a direct sales or a networking business?
Because of this two ideas were born:
1) The Grid: Go 5-wide and then 'drive' each of these legs 10 levels deep. (see the grid in the downloads section)
The idea is simple, by the time you fill all the squares you would be at 21% but, equally important, you should have at least one person in each leg that is also filling in their own grid.
However ... The Grid is not effective if you don't have a duplicable pattern to teach everyone who joins you regardless of whether some decide to create immediate income via other methods.
The answer to this problem was unveiled at Birmingham, is now in our presentations and on this site.

This is the basic format for building a successful business with FM and you owe it to yourself to become an active member. Determining that you will commit to this is a voluntary step but the rewards far exceed the basic commitments. It runs like this.
As you are aware each product has a point value. (See product and points page at your website) In this example we shall use the classic product (bottle) as our basis. A classic fragrance is awarded 29 points; dividing this into 300 means that 11 Bottles equal a total of 319 points. So you need to use/sell a monthly amount of products totaling 300 points to qualify for your club membership on the retail side of things. You can sell more products there is no upper limit.
How to reach your monthly 300 is very easy.
You become your best customer first and buy your own shower gels, body lotions, roll on’s, shaving foams along with your favourite fragrances each month. One person can easily do 100 points per month at a (tax deductable) cost of about £26.00 per month.
You will be able to make up the difference of 200 points and make more than the cost of your own product purchases by selling just 2-bottles a week to your closest friends and family (the sort of people who will so you a favour) and help you out.
You continue selling at least 2-bottles a week until you have found at least 2-regular customers who duplicate you by using 100 points per month each. The more customers you get the more orders you get the more points you accumulate...
You will notice the club name is the 300+1 club.
The +1 part is interesting as this involves the team building side.
Each month you agree to find one new distributor who joins your team. These new distributors come from various activities as you endeavour to market the opportunity to friend’s colleagues, neighbours and Customers etc. Being an active seeker is the most important part. The more times you talk to people about this opportunity the more people will join you and you’re only looking for one new person each month. Obviously you can introduce more but one will do...
This is the beauty of this system. You teach it to every new person who joins and if they commit to do the same your business will grow exponentially and you only need ever do the 300+1 each month.
The company will reward you for your continued commitment with various recognitions from pin badges to royalty bonuses to Mercedes cars. The sky is the limit but you have the means to get there.
In every network/MLM company you will find they encourage you to buy their products. Your products can be paid for from your bonuses by using the 300 +1 system How good is that?
